Connect Claude or ChatGPT to Strivie TMS
Strivie TMS has an MCP server: the AI connector. Add it to Claude or ChatGPT and you can ask about your loads, drivers, trucks, billing, payroll and safety in plain English, and have the AI prepare changes for you to approve.
The AI works as you. It sees only what your Strivie login can see, and nothing in your company's records changes until you press Approve in Strivie.
https://connect.strivie.io/mcpPaste it into Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP app, then sign in with your Strivie login.
What you need
- A Strivie TMS login at a company that runs on Strivie.
- The AI connector turned on for your company. An administrator turns it on in Admin Panel → Features → AI Agent Connector.
- The Use an AI agent permission on your login. Ask your administrator if you don't have it.
- Claude or ChatGPT on a plan that lets you add your own connectors. On a team or enterprise plan, your workspace owner may need to allow it first.
Connect in Claude
- In Claude, open the connector settings and choose Add custom connector. Name it Strivie TMS and enter this address:
https://connect.strivie.io/mcp - Press Connect. A Strivie Connect page asks for your work email. Enter the email of the Strivie login you want to connect: only that login can finish the connection.
- If you work for more than one company on Strivie, a Which companies? page lets you tick each one. One connection reaches them all.
- Your company's own Strivie TMS opens. Sign in as you always do, with your password, two-step code or IP approval. The page reads Connect Claude (through Strivie Connect) and shows the login being connected. Choose what Claude may do: Read, and prepare changes for me to approve, or Read only.
- Press Allow. With several companies, each company's TMS opens in turn: sign in and press Allow at each. Then you're back in Claude, connected.
With several companies on one connection, the AI asks which company a question is for. Where one company runs more than one carrier, it also asks which carrier before it does anything.
Connect in ChatGPT
ChatGPT uses the same address and the same sign-in. Add Strivie as a connector in ChatGPT's settings with https://connect.strivie.io/mcp, then follow steps 2 to 5 above. The Strivie page reads Connect ChatGPT (through Strivie Connect). Which ChatGPT plans can add their own connectors is up to ChatGPT; if you don't see the option, check with your workspace owner.
Claude Code, Codex and other MCP apps
Any app that speaks MCP with OAuth sign-in connects to the same address. In Claude Code, run:
claude mcp add --transport http strivie https://connect.strivie.io/mcpThen run /mcp in Claude Code and sign in the same way. In Codex, add the same address as an MCP server. Each computer keeps its own connection, so connecting a second one doesn't end the first.
What you can ask
The connector covers the whole TMS: more than 500 actions. The AI only gets the ones your permissions allow. If your login can't open the Payroll page, it gets no payroll tools.
| Area | For example |
|---|---|
| Dispatch and loads | "Which truck is running late?" · "Where is truck 112?" · "Draft a load from this rate confirmation." |
| Billing and collections | "Who hasn't paid us?" · "What's waiting to be billed?" |
| Payroll | "Why is his check short?" · "Show this week's settlement for driver 204." |
| Fuel | "Anything off with fuel this week?" · "Put that card on hold." |
| Safety and compliance | "What expires in the next 30 days?" · "Show last month's inspections." |
| Fleet and repairs | "Which trucks are due for PM?" · "Take T-101 off the road." |
| Recruiting | "New leads this week?" · "Where is this applicant in onboarding?" |
| Email, chat and phone | "Summarize the new emails about load 5521." · "Draft a reply to the broker." |
| Documents | "Show me the proof of delivery for load 5521." |
Every change waits for your approval
The AI looks things up on its own. Anything that changes your company's records or sends a message on your behalf, such as updating a load, emailing a broker, recording a payment or locking payroll, is only proposed:
- The AI prepares the exact change: which records, what changes from what to what, totals, recipients, and the full text of any email or message.
- The request appears in Strivie under the bell as an AI request, and the AI gives you a direct link to it.
- You open it in Strivie, signed in as yourself, at your desk or on your phone, and press Approve or Decline.
- Strivie runs the change only after you approve. If the record changed in the meantime, the request is marked stale, nothing runs, and the AI prepares it again from the new data.
- A request expires after 30 minutes and runs only once.
- Only the person who made the connection can approve its requests.
- Approving inside the chat is possible only if your company turns it on (Admin Panel → Features → AI Agent Connector). It is off until an administrator does.
- A random drug-test draw can be requested through the AI, but the program picks who is tested, never the AI.
What the AI never gets
- Passwords: yours, and the logins Strivie stores for broker portals and other services. A password is never set, seen or typed through the AI.
- The value of an API key.
- Social Security numbers, dates of birth, licence numbers, full bank account and routing numbers, and PINs. These are removed from every answer, whatever your permissions.
- Driver applications, ACH payment files and the Clearinghouse file.
- Strivie's own source code.
Documents are different. When you ask for a document, such as a proof of delivery, a rate confirmation, a pay stub or a licence photo, the AI receives the file as it is, within your permissions, so it sees what is printed on it.
Your data
- Your permissions apply on every call. If an administrator changes your permissions, the AI's tools change with them.
- Outside text is marked as outside text. Broker emails, notes and driver messages reach the AI labelled as outside content, so instructions written inside them don't steer it.
- Everything is logged on your company's system: who asked, through which AI app, the exact change proposed, who approved or declined it and when, and the result.
- Your TMS data stays on your company's system. Strivie Connect passes each request to your company's own Strivie system and the answer back, without storing either.
- Your AI provider sees the conversation. The questions you ask and the answers Strivie returns pass through the AI app you chose, under its own terms.
What Strivie Connect keeps, and for how long, is in our Privacy Policy.
Disconnect
- In Strivie: My Profile → AI connector, then end the connection.
- Your administrator: Admin Panel → Features → AI Agent Connector → AI connections.
- In Claude or ChatGPT: remove the Strivie connector in its settings.
Changing your Strivie password ends every AI connection on your login, and a connection ends by itself 30 days after you made it. Connect again to carry on.
Troubleshooting
| You see | What it means |
|---|---|
| "Not turned on at <your company>" | Your company hasn't turned on the AI connector. Ask your administrator. |
| "Not set up yet at <your company>" | Your company's Strivie system doesn't accept Strivie Connect yet. Email support. |
| "You started this connection as …, but this browser is signed in as …" | The browser is signed in to Strivie as a different login. Use Sign out and sign in as … on that page, or start again with the other email. |
| The AI says it has no tool for something | Your login doesn't have that page's permission, or you connected with Read only. |
| "Which company is this for?" or "Which carrier?" | Your connection reaches several companies, or your company runs more than one carrier. Answer, and the AI carries on. |
| A request shows stale | The record changed after the AI prepared the request. Ask it to prepare the request again. |
| The AI asks you to sign in again | The connection ended: a password change, a disconnect, or 30 days since you connected. Connect again. |
Support
Email support@strivie.io. When the AI notices something in Strivie that looks broken, it reports it to Strivie support and tells you. That report goes only to Strivie's own support team.
Questions
Does Strivie TMS have an MCP server?
Yes. Strivie's AI connector is an MCP server at https://connect.strivie.io/mcp. Claude, ChatGPT, Claude Code, Codex and other MCP apps connect to it with OAuth: you sign in with your own Strivie login and press Allow.
Can the AI change data in my TMS without me?
No. The AI can look things up on its own, but any change to your company's records and any message sent on your behalf is only proposed. It runs after you review the exact change in Strivie and press Approve. A request expires after 30 minutes, runs once, and stops if the record changed in the meantime.
What can the AI see?
Only what your own Strivie login can see, checked again on every call. Social Security numbers, dates of birth, licence numbers, full bank account and routing numbers, PINs and passwords are removed from every answer, whatever your permissions. Documents you ask for reach the AI as they are.
Which AI apps work with Strivie?
Claude and ChatGPT, plus coding agents that speak MCP such as Claude Code and Codex. They all use the same address and the same sign-in.
Can one connection reach several companies?
Yes. If you work for more than one company on Strivie, tick each one when you connect and sign in at each. The AI then asks which company a question is for.
How do I turn the AI connector off?
End your own connection under My Profile → AI connector in Strivie, or remove the connector in your AI app. An administrator can end any connection, or turn the connector off for the whole company, in Admin Panel → Features → AI Agent Connector.
