We're Live. And Someone Actually Paid Us.
Fourteen days. That's how long it took to go from "we should build this" to "someone is using this to run their actual business." Fourteen days, roughly 400 cups of coffee, and zero hours of sleep that we'd like to talk about publicly.
The Demo That Went Off-Script
Here's the thing about demos: you plan them. You rehearse. You know exactly which buttons to click and which ones to absolutely, under no circumstances, click.
Our first demo didn't go like that.
The fleet owner — a 30-truck operation running OTR — sat down, looked at the screen, and immediately grabbed the mouse. "Can I just... try something?"
Our heart stopped. This was not the plan. The plan was a carefully choreographed walkthrough. The plan was to show the dashboard, say some impressive words, and get out alive.
Instead, this man started clicking around like he'd been using Strivie for years. He opened dispatch. Assigned a load. Checked driver compliance. Pulled up payroll. Looked at the P&L breakdown.
Then he turned around and said the five words every startup founder dreams about:
"Wait, it does THAT too?"
The "How Much?" Moment
We hadn't even gotten to pricing. We hadn't shown recruiting. We hadn't shown maintenance tracking. We definitely hadn't shown the communications hub.
But he'd seen enough. He pulled out his phone, called his office manager, put her on speaker, and said: "Cancel the other thing. We're switching."
The "other thing" was a TMS they'd been using for three years. They were canceling a three-year relationship after a 20-minute demo of software that was two weeks old.
We didn't know whether to celebrate or panic. We chose both.
Going Live at 11 PM (Obviously)
The onboarding happened that same week. And by "onboarding" we mean we stayed up until 11 PM making sure everything was perfect, then watched the first real load get dispatched through Strivie at 11:47 PM on a Tuesday.
A real load. A real driver. A real truck. Heading from Rockford, IL to Fort Worth, TX. Dispatched, tracked, and documented in a platform that didn't exist 14 days earlier.
Strivie read the rate confirmation automatically. The driver got his assignment on his phone. The settlement was calculated without anyone touching a spreadsheet. Nobody called the office. Not once.
It just worked.
What This Means
Getting your first customer isn't just a milestone. It's proof. Proof that the problem is real, the solution works, and someone trusts you enough to bet their business on it.
We didn't have a marketing budget. We didn't have a sales team. We didn't even have a proper landing page. We had a product that solved a real problem so well that it sold itself in 20 minutes.
Customer #1 is live. The platform works. And we're just getting started.
To every trucking company still using five different apps and two spreadsheets to run their operation: we're coming for you. In the nicest way possible.
